Our IKIGAI bookmark

Il segnalibro IKIGAI

In the era of digital technology and AI, talking about a bookmark might seem old-fashioned. However, at Seama, we have chosen this small object because we believe it is timeless—something that has outlasted passing trends and holds deep meaning. It is always there to leave a mark, to remind us to pick up something we left unfinished.

Gifting a bookmark is a sign of appreciation, a gesture of connection that expresses gratitude and affection. Our Ikigai bookmark carries many messages: the first is about not wasting and recognizing the value of things, even the smallest ones. The second is a message of renewal: the card we have chosen is made of "Piantami" paper, which can be torn up and planted to grow flowers. The third is a message of positivity and hope: to seek the meaning of one’s own life and happiness.

We created it with the idea of reusing every small scrap from the production of our bags—which we already make using circular materials, eco-leathers obtained from organic recycling, like grape skins, olive waste, and orange peels. We wanted to push the idea that nothing is ever really wasted; everything can gain new value with a bit of care.

In this month of sustainability, it’s a perfect gift for readers—who we value greatly, because those who read live a thousand lives, and we believe they care about many of our values. We also dedicate it to our mothers with deep gratitude, as they are the keepers of the book of our lives.
