Small actions to avoid polluting the sea and holiday destinations
The SUP (Single Use Plastic, 2018/904/EU) Directive of the European Union bans the production and sale of many single-use plastic products such as straws, cups, plates, cutlery, and sticks, promoting the use of sustainable alternatives.
If you don’t know how to dispose of a product, it’s important to find out rather than abandon it. For example, rubber flip-flops should be thrown into general waste.
Some useful actions: choose sunscreens with plastic-free packaging, take picnic containers back home, and leave the beach clean. Even small gestures matter.
